Ang Lee to direct A Little Game

By Matt Holmes /

Back in October, The Mask pairing Jim Carrey and Cameron Diaz were all set to re-team for the first time in over a decade to star in A Little Game Without Consequence until script problems led to their departure just weeks before filming along with director Gabriel Muccino. It was believed at the time that Focus Features wanted a commercially friendly movie, when the talent involved were aiming for a much darker tale. Since then it's all been very quiet on the flick, until today as Variety have announced that Oscar winning director Ang Lee has signed up to helm the movie, scheduled to be his next following the WWII movie Lust, Caution which was shot in his native language and is now in the post-production stage. The movie is currently being re-written with the hunt now on for two new leads. I still haven't got round to seeing his last movie Brokeback Mountain yet. I know I should really and I'm sure I will watch it eventually with all the awards it has won, etc... but I just can't get excited about watching a gay cowboy movie. source - variety, coming soon
