20 Horror Movies You'll Never Get To See
7. Whistle 2
Corin Hardy's (The Hallow, The Nun) new horror film Whistle was released in February, and Hardy wasted no time at all hyping up his ambitions for a sequel.
Given that the first movie ended by effectively dooming everyone gathered at the school assembly when the Aztec death whistle was blown, a more chaotic, bigger-scale Whistle 2 basically writes itself.
Hardy wants to "continue telling Whistle stories," yet that seems overwhelmingly unlikely to happen considering the film was a surprise box office flop, grossing just $5 million globally.
And while there's always the possibility of a box office dud enjoying viral success on streaming, that doesn't seem to have happened in this case, as Whistle has basically already evaporated from the cultural conversation.
It's a shame, because as rough around the edges as Whistle was, it had a fun central concept that should've been ripe for an ongoing Final Destination-esque franchise. But alas, t'wasn't to be.
