One agreeable element for most of Ant-Man's run-time is the lack of a forced romantic subplot, but of course, it eventually rears its head and isn't really telegraphed well at all. Sure, everyone knows what's going to happen, but the most effort that's put into developing this relationship is when Hope tells Scott mid-way through the movie that she's starting to go from hating him to actually almost liking him. At the very end of the film, Hank opens a door to see Scott and Hope kissing, at which point Hank is irritated and taken aback, and Scott amusingly insists that it was all Hope's doing. At least it doesn't take up much screen time, but it still feels totally pointless.
