3. The Trench Attack

After escaping from Black Manta, Arthur and Mera commandeer a boat to continue their journey, but soon enough they're waylaid by the Trench, the aforementioned race of creatures to whom Arthur's mother Atlanna (Nicole Kidman) was reportedly sacrificed.

Despite putting up a strong effort against the monsters, the boat eventually becomes overrun by them, forcing Arthur and Mera to dive down to the ocean's depths, using a flare to light their way.

The above shot of them swimming downward is surely the single most artful, gorgeous visual in the entire movie, even if it ultimately leads to the hilariously absurd yet totally predictable reunion between Arthur and Atlanna.
