12. Thanos Uses The Soul Stone To Devastating Effect

Thanos’ quest to assemble all six Infinity Stones in the gauntlet was designed to give him complete and full power over the entire universe. It basically made him a god with literally everyone and everything at this mercy, and of course, he utilised it to great effect.

However, each stone on its own gave the Mad Titan unrivalled power across the universe, and most were used individually to help in his journey. The Power Stone was used to defeat Thor and destroy the Asgardian ship, the Space Stone teleported him around the galaxy, the Reality Stone allowed him to defeat the Guardians in Knowhere, and the Time Stone was used to put Vision’s exploded Mind Stone back together again.

While the Soul Stone was only used once, to help identify the true Doctor Strange on Titan, there was an idea that he could use it to separate every one of his foes’ souls from their bodies during that same fight.

The concept art for this idea looks stunning, and it is a shame the Mad Titan never used the stone to its full potential on its own, but in truth it would have made the character simply too overpowered. How could Star Lord, Iron Man and co. ever recover from such an attack?
