With next year's Avengers sequel - Avengers: Age of Ultron - being a constant source of discussion and speculation amongst fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, maybe we should take a break and use it as an opportunity to look a little further ahead. Everything that has happened in the Marvel Cinematic Universe so far seems to be leading towards the third Avengers movie, in which it is believed that Thanos will wield the ultimate weapon - the Infinity Gauntlet - against the universe and, in turn, against the Avengers and their allies. Assuming that the story is, in any way, based on the Infinity Gauntlet comic book arc of the same name, a relative army of characters will be needed to combat the Mad Titan and, as such, the Infinity Gauntlet story arc is an ideal opportunity to bring in a whole host of new characters in to the Marvel Cinematic Universe to aid with future expansion. The Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy are likely to come together to face Thanos, so the likes of Thor, Hulk, Iron Man, Captain America, Black Widow, Hawkeye, Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch, Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Groot and Rocket Raccoon will no doubt be present in the fight against the villain, but they will surely need more support than that to combat someone who, even without a weapon that practically makes him God, could lay the smack down on their collective butts. This doesn't necessarily mean only bringing in characters who appeared in the Infinity Gauntlet comic book storyline because, given that the likes of Wolverine, Spider-Man, Cyclops and the Silver Surfer were key characters, some new characters could be brought in to replace those guys.
