One of the few deaths that led to a resurrection, Angel's death as the end of season two of the show was an emotional tour-de-force. As Angelus, he had already proven himself to be Buffy's most dangerous foe yet, murdering Jenny Calendar, torturing Giles, almost killing her friends after leading them into a trap and then freeing the demon Acathla to suck the world into Hell.
