Avengers: Age Of Ultron - 10 Plotholes That Almost Ruin It

6. Water Of Sight? WHAT?

Thor's role in bringing Vision to life is smartly played, as it ties in to his duty to protect the Infinity Stones (he seems the most concerned about the idea that someone is making a play for them, after all), but there's something wrong with the way it's set up.

So, he has a Vision, created by Scarlet Witch based on his own fears, which someone manages to give him crucial plot details for not only Ragnarok but also Infinity Wars. Despite being made up of material that had to already be in his head.

That's already bad enough, but then he realises that the best way to re-visit his vision is to find a special Water Of Sight pool that allows dreams to be re-entered. And for some reason he needs Dr Erik Selvig - who has somehow transformed from a Theoretical Astrophysicist into an expert in ridiculous dream paddling pools somehow - to go with him, you know, so he's got someone to explain the plot contrivance to.

It's all very silly: why not just have Thor remember his vision, and go to Asgard to investigate? The sequence just adds a silly distraction that seems like it's been mercilessly chopped to pieces in the edit, leaving Selvig looking like he didn't even need to be in the film.
