Avengers Age Of Ultron: 10 Outrageous Comic Moments That Won't Be Used

5. Scarlet Witch Kills Hawkeye Twice, Loses Memories, Sleeps With Resurrected Hawkeye

Hawkeye and Scarlet Witch, aka Wanda Maximoff, definitely had something plenty strange going on in the mid-2000s. During the conclusion of the €œAvengers Disassembled€ arc, Wanda goes nuts and kills a number of her Avengers teammates, including Hawkeye. Then during the House of M miniseries, Hawkeye is resurrected as part of the alternative timeline Wanda creates, only to be killed off again by Scarlet Witch. Still, Marvel wasn€™t done with Hawkeye yet, as the last issue of House of M gives fans of the archer hope by showing his costume and a newspaper clipping reporting his death with one of his trusty arrows in the middle of it. Hawkeye is officially resurrected (again) in New Avengers #26 when he decides to seek out Wanda for €œclosure€ (killing you two times over does that to a guy). But when Hawkeye tracks down Wanda at Wundagore Mountain, he discovers that she€™s forgotten who she is and has no recollection of ever being the Scarlet Witch (or killing him). She then makes a move on Hawkeye and the two have sex because € how else were they going to pass the time at Wundagore Mountain? Hawkeye has no idea what to make of the situation and does the €œgentlemanly€ thing and leaves Wanda in the middle of the night. Still, Marvel manages to up the absurdity factor of the situation by revealing in a future storyline that Wanda is actually a Doombot and the real Scarlet Witch is being held captive by Doctor Doom. So not only did Hawkeye sleep with his murderer, he slept with a robot version of her. And people said the 90s were a wacky time for comics.
