Avengers: Endgame - 10 Huge Controversies Nobody Saw Coming
2. 4Chan’s Version
In what might be the snowflakiest move ever, a 4Chan user has uploaded a version of the movie without anything that upsets them in it. This means, to quote: "No feminism, no gay sh*t", as well as removing people of colour.
That may seem like it removes a decent chunk of the plot, as it implies all scenes with War Machine, Black Widow, Nebula, Gamora and Captain Marvel will be cut, not to mention large swathes of the final Avengers assembled moment.
It is ironic that the group of people who complain about everyone getting offended tend to get the most offended. Comments that the A-Force moment was forced is reasonable; recutting the entire movie to remove anyone who isn’t a straight white man is less so.
There was bound to be some blowback from giving a bigger role to a diverse cast, but the benefits far outweigh the cons. Obviously, more inclusive movies tend to have a more positive influence in general, but cynically they widen the marketplace too.
While the animosity could have been predicted, the fact that some crybabies were upset enough to edit the film so drastically was definitely a surprise to most.
