12. X-Men Will Be In The Post-Credits Scene
The Rumour
After Disney's deal to buy Fox's film properties and the impending return of the X-Men and Fantastic FOur to Marvel ownership, speculation has been rife of when we'll see them come to the MCU. According to a recent rumour by BGR, that could be as soon as Endgame's post-credits scene.
They point to Kevin Feige's own words (to Variety), which confirmed work on the Fantastic Four and X-Men franchises would begin "in the first six months of next year" most likely. To them, that suggests it's possible.
Response
Don't count on this too much. The deal isn't even complete yet and it's hard to see how they could get an actual X-Men appearance in there in this short amount of time.
Plus, Fox still have Dark Phoenix and New Mutants to come and proximity to those simply won't be a good look for Marvel. If it's anything, it'll be a mutantkind tease, but only in the vaguest way possible.
