31. The Matrix

After Thanos informs the Avengers that he's already reduced the Infinity Stone down to atoms to prevent himself or anyone else using them again, he tells the heroes, "I am inevitable."

The line and Brolin's delivery are both unmistakably reminiscent of The Matrix's iconic antagonist Agent Smith (Hugo Weaving), whose favourite word just might be "inevitable."

For extra good measure, Thanos repeats the line in the film's third act climax, but that time, he gets a rather neat retort from Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.).
