As ever, we need to talk about Hawkeye.

The most under-appreciated character in the entire MCU (at least in terms of the heroes, anyway) is set for his moment to shine in Avengers: Endgame and honestly, it's about the most exciting new part of that whole story. Unfortunately, it looks suspiciously like his arc is going to be initially defined by tragedy, just as most of the survivors' will be.

The trailers seem to suggest that Hawkeye will take on his darker Ronin identity after the Decimation robs him of his family - or at least his daughter - and he is broken. Considering he gave up his hero gig to be closer to them, that much would make sense.

But there's something new to talk about thanks to the trailers too. Thanks to a poster on Redditor there is now evidence that the Russos weren't lying when they said that some of the scenes in the marketing had been manipulated or were entirely fake. In this case, it's a manipulation as it turns out that Marvel forgot to make the same changes to the 3D version of the trailer as they did the "normal" version.

The trailers show Hawkeye doing something that involves running through subterranean tunnels, which was assumed to be the mission that he's undertaking in Japan when Black Widow goes back to recruit him once more. Originally, we got to see some action but no real hint of who or what Hawkeye was taking on, but the unedited 3D trailer reveals that he's being chased by Thanos' Outriders and that the explosion is probably of his making to deal with them...
