Avengers: Infinity War - 10 Tricks Marvel Pulled On The Fans
10. The Number Of Stones Thanos Obtains By The Final Act
If Avengers: Infinity War's marketing campaign proves one thing, it's that you can no longer take trailers at face value. What is shown in the promo footage can always be doctored for the final cut to deceive the audience.
There are numerous examples of this in the Infinity War trailers, and one of the best comes during the final act when Thanos arrives for the epic battle in Wakanda with all bar one of the Infinity Stones in his possession.
Fans were given glimpses at this sequence in the trailers, notably with a peek at the Mad Titan tussling with Captain America. In the advance footage, the villain's gauntlet is loaded up with just two gems: the Space Stone and the Power Stone. In the final cut, however, only the Mind Stone is missing from Thanos's glove by this point.
No doubt Marvel edited this footage and removed three of the stones to play around with audience's expectations about how Infinity War would end. Most fans rightly predicted that the Wakanda showdown was the final battle, and therefore if Thanos was heading into it with only two gems in his possession, that seems to increase the perecived odds against him obtaining the full set by the end of the film.
