Despite how surprising it always felt to think that a Disney film in an ostensibly family-oriented franchise could ever adapt something purely that basically killed off millions of people at once, they only went and ended Infinity War on the snap.

In the comics, Thanos clicks his fingers in order to show off to Death in the hope that it will seduce her. And just as it does in the film, the click wipes out half of existence. Watching everyone die as they do int he movie is a stark reminder that Marvel Studios and the Russos really weren't messing around with these stakes.
