There are a whole host of burning questions as we head into Avengers: Infinity War: Where is the Soul Stone? What's Hawkeye up to? Is Peter Dinklage playing a member of the Black Order? No really, what's Hawkeye up to?

Chief among them, though, is the question of who is going to be making it out alive.

Through the entire build-up to this event movie, everyone in involved has been making it clear that this is the beginning of the end, that along with Avengers 4 it is the culmination of the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe thus far, and that we should be prepared to say goodbye to some big characters.

Of course, that means a number of deaths will be saved for Avengers 4, where there can be a greater sense of finality and a proper degree of moving on, but you can't have a film called Infinity War without a casualty or two. The tone has been ominous, and the sense of dread is palpable.

A few heroes could be the one to bite the dust, but many of the signs on the road to Infinity War point to it being the end of the line for the truest of them all. Steve Rogers, Captain America, Nomad - call him what you like, but he's probably, tragically, heroically, going to die, because maybe he really can't do this all day.
