Cause of Death: Disintegrated.

Star-Lord's (Chris Pratt) death occurs after Mantis and Drax (Dave Bautista) have been turned to dust on Titan, and as the Russos pan over to him, there's a good few seconds of suspense where the audience is anxiously unsure of his fate.

For a moment, it seems that Quill may end up stranded on Titan with Iron Man and Nebula (Karen Gillan) - which would've been an amusing team-up no doubt - but after Tony assures him to keep steady, he merely lets out a vaguely disappointed, "Oh man..", before turning to dust.

Granted, that's a reaction totally in step with Quill's character, but more probably could've been made of this. If there was any time for Star-Lord to get serious, it was this.
