The Theory
Because of his ties to the Soul Gem in the comics - and the fact that he appears as a main character in the Infinity Gauntlet comic - some theorists are suggesting that Adam Warlock could be the key to unveiling the Soul Stone.
How that would manifest differs depending on who is presenting the theory, but generally speaking it's suggested that he will turn up with the Stone already in his possession before Thanos steals it.
The fact that his fake pod in Guardians Of The Galaxy glowed sort of browny orange has also been suggested as evidence:

It'd be nice to think that Warlock's key role in the comics would translate to an involvement in the movie, but it's just not happening. He's already been established as a forthcoming presence in Guardians Vol 2 and James Gunn has confirmed he won't appear again until the follow-up.
And given Gunn's importance to the MCU, there's no way he's being over-ruled, so maybe don't expect to see him.
