8. Tony And The Mystery Hand

In the short amount of time the trailer's been out, one of the biggest questions fans have been trying to answer is who does that hand belong to - the one Tony is embracing so passionately, and with deep sadness?

It's hard to tell if the hand belongs to a male or a female because it's covered in so much dirt, but the mystery person appears to be wearing a dark, long-sleeved top, with the tip of the sleeve patterned in a different way to the rest of the item. Based on that description, there's one likely candidate: Peter Parker.

He's seen wearing a similar jacket later in the trailer. So what's happening in the Tony holding-hand scene?

Our best guess is that Tony and Peter - plus some other heroes - are fighting Thanos on this reddish-tinted planet, which may or may not be Earth. Peter sustains a serious injury (maybe that Thanos choke-slam that appears further into the trailer) and Tony believes the kid is about to die - or maybe he does die, and is later brought back to life by the Time Stone.

Whatever happens, Tony holding Peter's hand makes sense. They had a strange father-son relationship in Spider-Man: Homecoming, and Tony was very clearly fond of Peter. Plus, Infinity War's Comic-Con footage supposedly showed Tony and Peter on this red planet, with Peter lying on the floor, looking distressed, telling Tony that he's "sorry".

This could be the line of dialogue that prompts Tony to take Peter's hand - an effort to comfort his surrogate son, and let him know that it's all okay.
