19. Best Actress

Prediction: Emma Stone (La La Land)

This is a real tough one, as it's either going to Stone or Natalie Portman (Jackie), but given the general stronger reception to La La Land and Stone's peppy appeal on the awards circuit (not to mention her recent Globes win), she definitely has more momentum moving forward.

Should She Win?: Amy Adams does some fantastic work in Arrival that's not nearly getting rewarded enough this awards season, but it's also hard to feel bad about a Stone win. She was immensely charming throughout and gave it her all. This really feels like her year, so she can have it.
