19. The Second Serial Suit (1949)

Pros: Actually, a pretty cool Bat-symbol. Even if it is too low on his body. Also, slimming underpants, a la Bridget Jones.

Cons: Well, it clearly doesn't bloody fit properly, giving the effect of Batman wearing his Batdad's costume or something. It's not practical for crime fighting (being more of a theatrical costume) and the utility belt is almost under his armpits.

You can probably forgive the first 1940s serials for their lack of production values: it was war-time and there was no real precedent for superhero movies. But they could have made sure the cowl actually fitted the actor properly.

It's all very bad cosplay, really.
