Batman V Superman: 10 Biggest New Reveals From Zack Snyder's Live Commentary
10. Batman May Not Be A Killer After All
Batman v Superman came under fire for its portrayal of the Caped Crusader, especially as the "hero" (that's certainly not how some fans perceived him) seemingly killed Gotham City's criminals on a whim. The comic book version of the character has a strict no-kill rule, so Snyder's decision to take him down a much darker route led to a sizeable amount of backlash.
Well, during a tongue in cheek reference to that, Snyder insisted that the people Batman blew up during that early Batmobile chase are definitely still alive...er, honest!
"This is an example of the Batmobile’s armaments and its weapons. I’m sure these guys are fine," the filmmaker teased. "They’re going to be 100 percent okay, they’re not going to be dead. Those guys in the car there, they’re 100% fine. We should have done like an A-Team shot of them by the road getting up like, 'Ugh, that hurt.' But they’re fine. Just for the PG-13 of it all."
Snyder might be poking fun at the reaction to this and the impressive warehouse scene, but those of you who would rather not think of Batman as some sort of unhinged killer can at least take solace in the fact those thugs are still alive and well. Probably.
