Batman V Superman: 10 Implications For Justice League

2. The Absence Of Green Lantern

Though pre-release rumours suggested that Dan Amboyer would possibly have a quick cameo as Hal Jordan or Green Lantern in Batman v Superman, it wasn't to be (at least in the theatrical cut). This is especially telling because Green Lantern is the only one of "the seven" not to appear in Batman v Superman, likely a result of him being the most "problematic" of the Justice League's heroes, given 2011's botched Ryan Reynolds-starring solo Green Lantern movie. The knock-on effect is that Lantern won't actually be introduced in Justice League Part One, either, as already confirmed by producers. Instead, he will be left to simmer until Part Two, perhaps making a crucial save when the rest of the Justice League are left defeated by Darkseid or another villain. But sorry folks, if you thought that Warner Bros. were playing sneaky and were going to trot out Green Lantern along with the other six as a surprise twist, you were sadly mistaken, at least for now.
