4. Doomsday's CGI Is Atrocious

There's been plenty of worry about the look of Doomsday ever since he was first unveiled late last year, and now it seems that he's catching the lion's share of the flak for the film's occasionally ropey visual effects. IGN summed it up best: "The character's visual effects are just awful, and they repeatedly pull you out of the movie at exactly the moments you need to feel most invested and afraid for our heroes. You can sense the 'tennis ball acting' of the stars going up against a CGI effect to be added later, and this emotional disconnect is egregious given the stakes of the finale." Other outlets also chimed in on "CGI overkill" (Empire), and "numbing CG overload" (Gamesradar), while The Wrap compared it to another big-budget filmmaker's usual fare: "Snyder allows the battle to descend to Michael Bay levels of visual cacophony, where one can€™t be entirely sure who is doing what to whom, and how, and where all those beams of light are coming from."
