Not yet confirmed but heavily rumored, a Ben Affleck-starring solo Batman picture looks to be on the cards given his surefire positive reception in Dawn of Justice. Even though DC have already announced their full slate for the next few years, complete with the conspicuous absence of a Bat-film, it's hard to imagine the studio passing up the opportunity for such a lucrative production. The most recent reports pegged Ben Affleck to not only star, but to write and direct, and given his Oscar winning efforts with Argo, you don't bring someone of his caliber on board to simply grunt from behind a cowl. DC are much smarter than this, and they surely hired him to play Batman with his behind the camera prowess in mind. A post-credit scene based on this movie could do many things. One, it could reveal the villain of the piece, much like how the end of Batman Begins teased The Joker for its sequel, The Dark Knight. Since we already know the Joker exists in the current DC universe, show us a new villain, one we haven't seen on screen before. Or, it could act as a way to ground the more fantastical elements of the DCU in reality. One of the most relatable things about the Batman character is his humanity, and the fact that he has no powers. As such, his movies can take a more realistic approach, swapping the super strength for super intellect as a means to bring justice to the crime-infested streets of Gotham. Batman v Superman is a huge movie about aliens, laser beams and gods, so showing us a street level crime, and Batman stopping it, would be a nice way to remind us that at it's heart, the Batman character is a relatively down to earth concept.
