While Zack Snyder was a slave to the comics when he was adapting Watchmen, it's quickly becoming apparent that he wasn't lying when he said that this isn't an adaptation of The Dark Knight Returns. For that matter, new details about Batman v Superman indicate that he's veering wildly from the source material in general, something it will only be easy to forgive him for is the movie is as good as most of us are sure it will be. You see, whether Marvel fanboys like it or not, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is shaping up to be 2016's biggest and best comic book movie. That's not to say Captain America: Civil War won't still be amazing, but it's going to be damn near impossible for anything to come within a million miles of a movie which pits two bona fide icons against each other. You don't need me to tell you just how iconic Batman and Superman are of course.
