19. David - Bodies Bodies Bodies

David's (Pete Davidson) death in Bodies Bodies Bodies is proof perfect that context is everything.

The darkly comedic murder-mystery is kicked off when the group discovers David with his throat slashed outside, with the apparent murder weapon - a blood-stained kukri - beside his corpse.

This naturally leads the rest of the revellers to start accusing each other of the act, turning on one another and causing a pile of bodies to grow.

But the hilarious climax reveals that David actually wasn't murdered at all - rather, he accidentally cut his own throat while using the kukri to try and open a bottle of champagne for a TikTok video.

At the end of a movie that so succinctly satirises its characters' self-centeredness, it's quite perfect that there really wasn't a true villain at all. 

Instead, the situation simply led the characters to take the least charitable possible view of their peers and in turn show the worst, most base parts of themselves. Brilliant.
