10 Best Horror Movies Of 2026 (So Far)

2. Send Help

There is no doubt that Sam Raimi is a legendary horror director. However, in the last two decades, he has made more superhero films than scary ones. It's no surprise, then, that his return home in 2026 was met with universal excitement.

It's also no surprise that said homecoming proved to be as good as it was. Raimi has an undeniable style that has served him well over the years, something that was continued through the gloriously deranged and wildly entertaining Send Help.

A huge part of what made the movie so successful was the inspired casting of Rachel McAdams. After working with Raimi on Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, she was cast as Linda Liddle, and it's no exaggeration to say her performance elevated the entire project. Beginning as a meek and mild-mannered nobody, and ultimately evolving through trauma to someone confident, empowered, and a little bit insane, McAdams nailed every single aspect.

Add to the character a villain begging for a comeuppance, made all the more detestable by Dylan O'Brien's portrayal, before the story forced an audience to rethink the representations of good and evil presented before them, Raimi returned with a bang, and one of the most entertaining and gleefully insane films of the year, regardless of genre.
