20 Best Horror Movie Final Girls of the 2020s (So Far)

18. Zephyr - Dangerous Animals

Dangerous Animals is one of the most underrated horror films of last year, and while Jai Courtney sucks most of the oxygen out of the room with his delicious performance as shark-obsessed serial killer Tucker, let that not distract you from its also-terrific leading lady.

Hassie Harrison plays Zephyr, a free-spirited American woman who is abducted by Tucker and seemingly helpless to stop his plan to feed her to sharks.

While Tucker surely expected this drifter he abducted in the middle of the night to be another easy kill, Zephyr ends up putting up one hell of a fight.

Any great Final Girl needs a strong will to live, and Zephyr absolutely rocks that in spades, using every scrap of her cunning to eventually flip the script on Tucker.

The cat-and-mouse game between the two characters is intensely engrossing, and when Zeph finally gives Tucker a taste of his own medicine by serving him up to the sharks - which she films for good measure, just as he did - you'll struggle not to punch the air.
