20 Most Insane Box Office Flops Of The 2020s (So Far)
5. Snow White
Considering the success of Disney's live-action remakes of their animated classics, a Snow White remake should've done gangbusters numbers.
And yet somewhat ironically, one of the Mouse House's most iconic films also became one of their biggest flops when remade, as last year's Rachel Zegler-led Snow White grossed just $205.7 million.
This makes it one of the lowest-grossing live-action Disney remakes to date, made all the worse by the film's outrageously bloated gross budget of $336.5 million.
As for why an IP as popular and beloved as Snow White tanked so brutally?
The marketing made it look aggressively bland for one, but above all else the production was poisoned by years of negative PR, especially as it pertained to the controversial decision to reimagine the seven dwarfs as magical entities through CGI.
Couple all this with building fatigue over Disney's spate of remakes and there just wasn't much of an audience left willing to see it.
