10. Bernie The Taxidermy Beaver

When a taxidermy beaver appeared in the film wearing a bright pink tutu, many viewers likely considered it just a piece of quirky set dressing - as, indeed, the film is rife with interesting and eye-catching little trinkets.

But against all odds, this beaver actually has a far more complicated backstory. Bernie has been a longtime staple of the Harley Quinn comics, serving as an animal assistant that she doesn't have to feed or worry about dying like her hyena pets.

Though Bernie does not serve a purpose in the film outside of being a fun little reference to the comics, it's a delight to see such care taken to ensure Harley's life in the film almost directly mirrors her comic counterpart - right down to the taxidermy animals.
