5. T'Challa & Erik Are Half-Brothers

The Rumour: It wasn't exactly a stretch to believe that T'Challa and Erik might be related in some way, but the rumour mill started working overtime late last year when the movie's costume designer, Ruth E. Carter, referred to T'Challa as battling his half-brother, presumably referring to Killmonger.

The Truth: Carter was clearly mistaken or misquoted, because Erik is actually revealed to be the son of T'Challa's uncle N'Jobu (Sterling K. Brown), making them cousins, and allowing Erik to hilariously tell T'Challa's mother Ramonda (Angela Bassett), "Hey, auntie!"

Honestly, half-brother or cousin, the end result would probably be mostly the same, so there's no reason to be mad about this not being true.
