Black Panther Teaser Trailer Breakdown: 22 Things You Need To See

The MCU gets a truly singular origin story.

It may not be hitting cinemas until February 16 next year, and there's still Spider-Man: Homecoming and Thor: Ragnarok to come later this year, but Black Panther's solo movie actually wrapped production several months ago, and so Marvel Studios decided to release this snazzy first teaser trailer as a surprise treat for fans.

Though some of the visual elements definitely need a little refinement before release, the overall aesthetic is startlingly different from just about anything else the Marvel Cinematic Universe has served up so far, looking the most similar to Thor: Ragnarok at a stretch.

The teaser trailer does a great job of building intrigue, introducing the absolutely stacked cast and damn-near ensuring that the movie won't be an also-ran Marvel movie that just delivers the basic goods. Here comes an origin story with some real personality...
