Actor Chadwick Boseman, best known for playing Black Panther in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, has sadly died of cancer aged just 43.
Boseman passed away at home in Los Angeles with his wife and other family members by his side. The star had been privately diagnosed with colon cancer four years ago, but this news has stunned the entire film community.
Chadwick rose to prominence by playing real-life figures like baseball legend Jackie Robinson in 2013's 42 and soul great James Brown in 2014's Get On Up. After that, he earned worldwide acclaim for his portrayal of T'Challa/Black Panther - Boseman first appeared as the character in 2016's Captain America: Civil War, then went on to headline the cast two years later in Black Panther.
He had since appeared in both Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame.
This dreadful news has led to an outpouring of grief from fans and peers alike. Social media is already awash with tributes to Boseman, with Dwayne Johnson posting, "Thank you for shining your light and sharing your talent with the world. My love and strength to your family."
