3. It's Superbly Paced

Blockers clocks in at just 102 minutes in length, and is a thoroughly fast-paced sprint from start to finish. That it manages to not feel overly breathless or rushed is a testament to the efficient screenplay, quickly establishing its premise and just running with the ball.

There's barely a moment where the plot lulls or lingers too long on any one sequence, and any time a joke doesn't totally land, there's another one ready to go.

Even with the film frequently cross-cutting between the parents and their kids, it never feels like we're separated from one side for too long, with judicious editing giving the film constant forward-momentum.

By the time it's over, it sure doesn't feel like all that time has passed.
