3. Robert Gantz's Terrific Cinematography

It doesn't take a genius to figure out that Blood Father wasn't an expensive movie, and yet it's still a gorgeous-looking film for the most part, largely due to Robert Gantz's sharp cinematography.

Gantz may have only sporadic movie credits (2005's Assault on Precinct 13 remake and the Mesrine films) and work largely in TV, but that doesn't stop him making the most of the picturesque New Mexico landscapes.

The setting is almost a character in of itself in this movie, and Gantz brings it to gritty, vibrant life with his exceptional lensing work.
