5. It Feels Hilariously Dated

Take one look at the trailer for this movie and you'd be forgiven for assuming that it was an early Vin Diesel action flick that somehow passed you by.

Bloodshot is an aggressively kitschy throwback to the tacky, CGI-driven action flicks of 20 years ago, long before Hollywood as a whole truly took comic book adaptations seriously.

And while some may find appeal in its shamelessly retro tone, the result is a film that, from its visual style through to its narrative beats, feels very much a case of "been there, done that."

Tellingly, Columbia Pictures has been trying to get the movie made for close to a decade, and 10 years ago it probably wouldn't have seemed quite so comically behind-the-curve.
