Bond 24: 10 Actors Who Would Make Awesome Villains

By Jack Pooley /

6. Tom Hardy

Who He Would Play: Tom Hardy is a handsome, relatively young man who would be great for playing a similar role to what Sean Bean played in Goldeneye. Hardy wouldn't be convincing as some well-off oil baron, but he would make a great former ally of Bond, a fellow 00 Agent who has gone rogue, switching sides and refusing to come back into the fold. Though Hardy has himself been considered by fans as a possible candidate to play Bond when Daniel Craig hangs up the tie, aside from the fact that I personally think he's too short (not that this mattered with Bane), his roguish, mysterious personality lends itself well to villainous characters, especially an ambiguous one, just as a rogue agent would be. Likelihood Of It Happening: 5/10. The main thing working against Hardy is his age. Audiences might not be able to buy Bond being chased around by someone almost a decade younger than him, and if EON are even remotely considering him to take up the Bond role in 4 or 5 years, then it's unlikely they'd let him off the leash for something like this.
