And in many ways, the hilariously-titled Borat Subsequent Moviefilm is exactly the film the world needs right now - a thunderously ridiculous slice of prank-show comedy that perfectly captures the essence of what this year has been.

Though the risk of Sacha Baron Cohen dusting off his most successful creation almost 15 years after-the-fact speaks for itself - how many truly good belated comedy sequels can you really name? - this second go-around has certainly arrived at just the right time.

If it doesn't quite reach the fresh heights of its 2006 predecessor, Borat Subsequent Moviefilm nevertheless proves the unexpectedly timeless nature of Cohen's politically incorrect Kazakh reporter, who finds himself on a trip to America in order to try and give his daughter, Tutar (Maria Bakalova), to Donald Trump's Vice President, Mike Pence.

If nothing else, this is a film sure to get the world talking...
