So if you were a struggling creative type and you'd hit a wall and someone offered you a simple pill that would open your brain up to it's full potential, would you take it? That's the opportunity offered to struggling writer Bradley Cooper in his new sci-fi thriller Limitless, which recently had it's named changed from the more cryptic Dark Fields, the name of the novel by Alan Glynn on which the movie is based.
Of course he gets more than he bargained for when the side effects drive him nuts and mysterious, shadowy figures start to track his every move as he delves into the history of the drug in order to find return to sanity.
Co-starring Robert De Niro, Abbie Cornish, Anna Friel and Johnny Whitworth and directed by Neil Burger (The Illusionist, The Lucky ones), Limitless looks like your average slickly made paranoid thriller, but does it demand a must-see reaction?
