2007 sees Jamie Lee Curtis' most famous character Laurie Strode return to the big screen in an updated "reimaging" Halloween movie, with Scout Taylor-Compton cast in the role. However, there's another big slasher horror movie that Curtis once lead that is slated to get a remake in the near future. The much forgotten about 1980 movie Prom Night and the news from Variety today is that Brittany Snow will be playing the role of Kim Hammond, which Curtis made famous in the original. Snow has previously appeared in John Tucker Must Die, The Pacifier and was a regular star of the U.S. show American Dreams. She has already completed filming her lead role in Finding Amanda opposite Matthew Broderick and will soon be seen in Hairspray. Prom Night was a shockingly bad flick but I do have a small soft for it after growing up with the 80's slasher movies during my teenage years. One thing is for sure, after the horror remakes of The Omen, The Wicker Man and Black Christmas last year.... how are we seriously expected to get excited about seeing something like this? source - variety, coming soon
