Pierce Brosnan has spoke to Entertainment Weekly about his disappointment about being dropped from the role of Bond and he also spilled some beans on The Thomas Crown Affair sequel that was announced on September 11th 2006. Casino Royale has now been and gone, how does Brosnan feel about not being 007 now... "I've always felt okay about it. I feel a great sense of pride of having been part of such an amazing franchise, and one that, to the glory of Daniel Craig, will go on now. As much as a shock it was to be dropped from it.... for whatever reason". On what could have been the greatest Bond movie of all time... ..I wish that I had done it. I went to way back with Quentin Tarantino, who wanted to make it and I may have even given it to them on a platter Quentin wanted to make Casino Royale. So it comes with a certain heartache. But with that comes the determination to go on and change and find your own course". I would have literally killed someone to have seen a Quentin Tarantino/Pierce Brosnan Casino Royale movie. But oh well, that ship has now passed. On the sequel to his 1999 movie The Thomas Crown Affair, Brosnan said this... "Thomas Crown 2, for all intents and purposes, will happen. The script came in two days ago and it's good. We've announced it, we've said to the world that we're going to do it -- come hell or high water, we're going to do it. The bar is high on this one, the expectation is high on it."
Apparently the movie is being tentatively called The Topkapi Affair and will take many elements from the 1964 movie Topkapi.

He also mentioned that Rene Russo won't be returning for the sequel. Don't care much for the title, but I'm intrigued in seeing it. The Thomas Crown Affair was mindless but really fun. Does Brosnan have any draw power outside of Bond? Only Sean Connery was able to move away from the franchise and have a successful career, I'm hoping Brosnan can do the same, he is much more than a one-trick pony. source - entertainment weekly, coming soon
