When the D23 trailer aired, people couldnt stop talking about Crossbones. His attack featured prominently, making up most of the action in the footage; he did everything from chucking explosives at Caps shield to taunting him about Bucky. And yet, despite all of this, apart from a fleeting glance at some goons with the villain in the background, hes not present at all in the main teaser. Much like Zemo, it seems that the trailer refrained from showing any of the villains so as to highlight the conflict between the two central heroes instead. What makes less sense is that they withheld all of this action entirely. The whole attack sounds like a major set piece, perhaps even the first in the film, so its strange that none of those scenes appeared, with the trailer opting to show sequences that presumably take place much later on. Theres not really a convincing argument for why this assault would not be shown - Marvel had already revealed huge segments of this action to an earlier audience, after all.
