Captain America: Civil War - 8 Ways It'll Be Nothing Like The Comics
It's Civil War, but not as comic fans know it.
Drawing on the comic-book run of the same name (but with a Captain America prefix), Civil War is going to take the idea of Steve Rogers' Cap going up against Tony Stark's Iron Man straight from the page and put it on the big screen. Or so it would seem. Captain America: Civil War certainly sounds the part, and it's going to divide the heroes into two very distinct teams: Rogers vs Stark. Ever since Robert Downey Jr. was announced for the third Captain America film, speculation started that it'd be a Civil War adaptation, and once it was confirmed that expectation and hype has been crazy even by Marvel standards. This is particularly the case among the section of the fanbase who have read the comics, with Civil War being one of the biggest and most successful arcs in recent years. Put simply, translating this to the movies is a huge deal. And yet, expectations should be somewhat tempered. Not for the quality of the movie, which in keeping with the majority of Marvel's output (and in particular following on from the superb The Winter Soldier), should be awesome, but for just how much like the comics it will be. While it'll be Captain America vs Iron Man, there's a variety of reasons to suggest that, apart from that, it'll be Civil War in name only.
