Tony Stark, defeated, will return to the government. Hell claims that he needs extra back up if hes going to bring Cap and Bucky to justice. Everett Ross will introduce Tony to his friend TChalla (the pair were constant allies in the comics), also known as Black Panther. Hes the king of the African nation Wakanda, a powerful fighter, and keen to see this conflict put to rest. Tony will also recruit Don Cheadle's War Machine, Paul Bettany's The Vision and Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow. Meanwhile, the outlaw team will be in hiding somewhere, and theyll be looking to strengthen their numbers as well. Maybe this is when Cap will reach out to Scarlet Witch (who, judging by the trailers, witnessed the destruction surrounding the assassination attempt on Tony earlier on) and Hawkeye. Maybe Cap will pay one final visit to Peggy Carter at this point, believing that he may never have a chance to see her again. A big rumour is that Hayley Atwell's former S.H.I.E.L.D. agent will die during this visit. Spider-Man will surely reappear at this point, too. If the Russo bros want to echo the comics some more, Peter Parker could leave Team Tony and join Team Cap, having found out that Tony was spying on him using a new suit he built for him. That could be one subplot too far for the movie, though, so maybe theyll ditch that idea. During this pre-final-showdown phase, Joe and Anthony Russo may want to remind us that HYDRA are still unfurling their big secret plan behind the scenes. Just so nobody forgets that theyre still in the film.
