Martin Freeman and Benedict Cumberbatch just can't get enough of each other. Having worked together on Sherlock and The Hobbit, Freeman will now be joining his longtime co-star in the MCU, after signing up to appear in Captain America: Civil War. His role is unknown for now, which means we don't know which side of the titular war he'll be on. That said, given just how packed the film is already, and the fact he's joining quite late, it's likely to be a relatively minor one. It also hasn't been revealed whether he has signed the usual Marvel multi-film deal, but, if so, then there's a chance he'll appear alongside Cumberbatch's Doctor Strange. Marvel chief Kevin Feige said: "From his roles as Bilbo Baggins and Doctor Watson to Tim in The Office, Martin's range from the dramatic to the comedic has consistently impressed us. We couldn't be more honoured or excited to have such a talented actor join the Marvel Cinematic Universe." Production is currently underway on Civil War ahead of its May 2016 release. Captain America: The Winter Soldier directors the Russo brothers are back on board, ahead of turning their attention to Avengers: Infinity War, while confirmed to be joining Chris Evans' Cap will be established Marvel stars Robert Downey, Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan and Frank Grillo. Freeman's fellow newcomers include Chadwick Boseman's Black Panther, Daniel Brühl as Baron Zemo, and some chap by the name of Spider-Man. As for Freeman, he'll next be seen with Tina Fey in comedy Fun House, and alongside Cumberbatch in the forthcoming Sherlock special, ahead of a new run of the show in 2016.
