Captain America: Civil War Trailer - 9 Things We Want To See

8. A New Aspect To The Scarlet Witch

Recently released concept art showing the two sides facing off featured a notable omission. Aside from Hulk and Thor (who we figured wouldn€™t be making an appearance anyway), Scarlet Witch was conspicuous by her absence: odd, considering that she€™s front and centre in Captain America€™s Caffeine Free Avengers line-up at the end of Avengers: Age Of Ultron. In recent interviews, the actress behind the weird hand movements of the Witch, Elizabeth Olsen, has declared that Wanda Maximoff is €˜the wildcard€™ in the deck, and that they€™ve been working hard on a new way of portraying her powers, calling it a transformation. At one point in the comics, the Scarlet Witch has the power to bend and shape reality to her whim on an almost limitless scale, which is definitely the kind of ability that Stark might consider required regulation. But would that mean controlling her or recruiting her? And how would newborn magic robot the Vision feel about that? In the comics, Wanda and the Vision are an item, and even marry, and Avengers: Age Of Ultron certainly teases the possibility of that relationship arc coming up in the MCU. Is Stark moving against the Scarlet Witch, an Avenger, the catalyst for conflict in the film? Maybe we€™ll see a hint of their plans for her in the trailer.
