Cast Announced For Da Vinci Code Sequel, Inferno

Who will join the returning Tom Hanks in the next Robert Langdon adventure?

As if to be cruel, Ron Howard and Imagine Entertainment are getting ready to shoot another sequel to The Da Vinci Code. This one will be based on Inferno, the fourth book this series of pseudothrillers from Dan Brown, with The Lost Symbol being skipped over for now. The core cast have all be announced today, with Sidse Babett Knudsen, Irrfan Khan and Omar Sy joining the previously announced Felicity Jones and faithful Dan Brown cornerstone Tom Hanks returning as Robert Langdon. Knudsen is playing an old flame of Langdon's I believe - not that I'm going to read the book to check. One was more than enough. She's also the head of the World Health Organisation, which will be instrumental to the plot. Irrfan Khan is playing Harry Sims, who is being called "The Provost" for some reason; and Omar Sy will be Bruder, who... yeah, he's a man. I'll watch the film, sure, but I'm not reading the book. No way. According to Wikipedia, the plot kicks off in a hospital where Langdon wakes up from a few days unconscious. Jones is playing his doctor, and it's from there that they go off on some wildly improbable, hopefully comical misadventure that involves, if The Da Vinci Code is anything to go by, a lot of staring at walls, quite a bit of pointing and a stifling lack of intertia. Here's the full press release promo images. Inferno will be released on October 24th, 2016.
