Casting A Live Action Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood Movie
2. Alphonse Elric - Noah Schnapp
While Edward Elric is very much the hot headed, attack first, ask questions later type of individual, his brother, Alphonse, is far calmer in his approach. Either it's because his body is now stuck in a suit of armour or because he's still technically a child, Alphonse is definitely the less reckless of the two.
After watching Stranger Things and watching Noah Schnapp's performance on the show, he comes across as the perfect person to play the youngest Elric brother. Of course, the main thing about Alphonse is that for the vast majority of the show, barring flashbacks and the show's end, he's in a suit of armour. This means that Schnapp's role would be mostly voiceover work.
Whether or not he does any motion capture is different thing, as that would require some serious stunt work due to the fact that Alphonse is a complete badass. However, when it comes to needing someone to be the voice of reason when the Full Metal Alchemist has gone gung ho, Schnapp sounds like a great choice.
