Casting Marvel's 10 Next Superhero Movies

1. Luke Cage €“ Dwayne Johnson

It seems just too easy this one, but hell, I€™m going for it anyway. Much like Luke Cage, The Rock is built like several brick outhouses stacked atop a rather menacing hill, and having busted out clothing items similar to Cage€™s disco shirt (ah, the seventies€) in Be Cool, he€™s not above looking a bit blaxplotation-y. Couple this with the fact that most of the time Cage just uses his hands and feet, and you€™ve pretty much got a role Dwayne Johnson was born to play. Johnson sits in that odd little area of wrestlers who can actually act, a reservation saved just for him and potentially Dave Batista, if Guardians of the Galaxy goes well. Not only can the guy act, but he€™s capable of putting on hilariously intense performances that almost slip into parody, something that would be seemingly a perfect fit for Cage. Couple that with the fact that a Pain and Gain-sized Johnson gets pretty damn close to matching the man-colossus that is Cage for physicality, and you€™ve got yourself a winner. Yet what marks Johnson out as possibly the best candidate for Cage is his sheer physicality. A major part of the hero€™s identity is his redonkulous street-fighting ability, and we all know Johnson would be able to handle the fight work with ease, and if he could slip a rock bottom or two in there for good measure, I€™m pretty sure half this film€™s potential audience would high-five each other into delirium, and if he broke out the people€™s eyebrow, if only for a second, I€™d give this five stars for audacity alone. So that's my list €“ do you agree or disagree with the choices? Who would you pick? Feel free to comment!
